Simple, stilted, wooden piers allow docking for the armada of fishing and travelling junks that ply the Lake Nadai and it's tributary rivers, and great wooden pulleys deal with loads of fish and other cargo.
Several warships protect the bridge from the water, and the aforementioned junks, from attack by hostile forces. Any pirate who attempts anything in Lake Nadai can expect boarding actions by the highly trained Shirezei marine forces.
On the actual dockland, brothels, public houses, opium dens and marketplaces are crammed together, and every one of the roads are filled with salesmen and customers.
