The board room was empty apart from one figure, sitting at one end of the table, leaning back on two legs on a rather large chair, booted feet on top of the table, tricorner hat tipped over a darkened face.
The captain sat on his own in the dark room, the windows all shut and covered the door closed, thinking. He didn't like thinking with the bright sun in his eyes, and he didn't usually like thinking like this on dry land, but his ship was up for repairs after a rather interesting fight with a small time pirate vessel.
The heavily dreadlocked man sat in silence, not even the sound of his breathing reaching around the room, his eyes closed onder the brim of his hat, but still awake. He hadn't been able to sleep anyway, he was worrying at the moment.
The bottle of rum that he carried with him lay on the table, full and forgotten about. He was sober and he didn't like it.

The Inquisitor walked towards the door and then placed his hand on the wooden door. If this was someone else's house he would knock but this was a pirate and so the Inquisitor stood back and slammed his foot into the door sending it flying inwards. The bright sunlight flooded the once darkened room covering the Inquisitor in a kind of holy light.
"Artaxerxes I want to talk to you now." The Inquisitor ordered and walked into the room. It smelt of alcohol but Francis didn't care, he slammed the door behind him and opened one of the windows so he could see the captain.
"You don't look to good."

Art raised his head slowly, looking at the man that had the nerve to break down his door with such fury. The light was bright but the dark kohl around his eyes helped to dilute it so he could see the face of the man.
"Well, feel free to talk." His burnt chocolate eyes focussed on the inquisitor, the shadows under his eyes the only thing to show that he hadn't slept well recently. He was sober, and had been for two days now, he couldn't seem to dilute his worry with the alcohol, although he tried. The bottle was unopened. "I'm fine, you needn't concern yourself." He had no clue who the man was, but he was pleased he had bought himself shot.

"I am part of the holy Inquisition and they want you to stop this piracy." The Inquisitor sat down and then brought out a white handkerchief.
"We know you wont but the Inquisition feels that your religious people in your town are heretics and this is the main reason I am here." Francis coughed and then cleared his throat.
"If you co-operate with us then we will leave the matter where it is however if you help your religious people then it will be a act of war against not just the Imperial but the holy Inquisition itself."

The captain listened, frowning at the inquisitor. "I'm afraid that the inqusition has no power here." He captain said coldly, none of his usual drunken charm and none of his kindness showing. He was not particularly accomodating when he was sober."The inquisition can feel how it likes, but I have no control over the beliefs of my people."
He frowned darkly, pushing his hat back and revealing his face. "What is it that you think is so wrong? If the imperials want war they better be prepared." The captain was not in an accomodating mood, and he didn't like the look of this man.

"Well unfortunately I am not just a mere Inquisitor my friend, the brethren as its hands dipped into this."
Francis cleared his throat again and then smirked. "The holy Inquisition will flatten this land and then claim it as their own, I personnely don't care what the Imperial tend to do however the Inquisition wants your religious people to leave these shores and I want you gone too."
Francis snarled at the man and waited for his reply.

She had only been headed for the meeting chamber for one reason only - to attempt to stir Artaxerxes from out of his alcohol-induced sleep. He was always drunk, at least to a certain degree. Even in board meetings he had been known to saunter in with the effects of ill-gotten rum clouding his judgment, and it was not a situation that her fellow circle was too keen on. He often had a couple of bottles hiding away in the shadowed spots of the chamber, and one day, Ixchel had told herself, she was going to find them and hide them away from the captain - in a market stall for other people to purchase.
But as she approached the room, about to turn the corner to reveal herself to the outside of structure, something spoke to her, and told her quite clearly that something was amiss - the sharp dent that sat in the woodwork of the door only verified it as she drew closer. Had she been a little less confident, then her hesitation might have drawn on for a little longer, but to assess a situation properly, one had to be able to see the situation for themselves, and the door that stood between her and the room made it difficult for that to be done.
Her hand grasped the door handle, and with a small intake of breath and a push, the shafts of light that had filled the room greeted her eyes, showing to her a pair of figures - one all too familiar, and the other, from what she could tell, someone that clearly did not belong in the chamber. Her lips twisted into a small and unseen frown this was not the sight that she had been planning on seeing. She was silent for a moment, taking her time to gauge the situation for herself - but it seemed to be a futile endeavor.
"Now..." She began, her hand removing itself from the door handle to leave it open, revealing what stood behind it. Her dark eyes flicked over the back of what she knew to be an unknown figure, before landing on Artaxerxes in a way that told him all too well that she did not like this situation in the slightest. "What's going on here?"

"Well, only spoilt children say want..." Art said coldly, his eyes focussed on the inquisitor. His features were too sharp with alcohol to soften them down, the world was too real and lucid. It was so much more difficult this way.
"To be honest I don't care..." He began but his eyes flashed up to the open door and to the face of Ixchel. Although he didn't smile or offer any kind of greeting, he was pleased to see her, and his eyes showed it.
"Ah Ixchel..." He began, tipping his chair back a little before taking his feet from the table, ignoring the full bottle of rum. "This gentleman has come here alone to tell us that we are about to have a war." He said coldly, gesturing to the man that sat at the other end of the table.

The Inquisitor gave a chuckle and then laughed. "You surly think that you...a bunch of half witted pirates can beat the Inquisition?"
Francis coughed again and brought the handkerchief to his mouth the spit coming from his mouth mixed with the dark red blood. "Now like I said there may not be a war if you co-operate and tell every last heretic here to stop what they are doing or we will cleanse your land."

Hearing the man's last words, Ixchel wasted no time in retorting. Dressed in typical sea-faring attire, many layers added to the ensemble to keep the cold at bay and the sun's light from boring into her skin, she continued to stand in the mouth of the open door, her arms folded across her chest in a way that projected confidence and severity. Her eyes were quick to mirror it, long dark hair pulled back from her face and twisted into a way that left every strand tied up and unavailable for capture.
"Please to be telling us what you mean by 'heretics'." She responded, her tone, normally casual and reserved in nature, had been completely doused and rekindled by a sharp blade of displeasure. She already had a vivid idea of what he meant, but she wasn't going to sit back and let him openly insult the very people she sought to protect. "Could you just mean the people that don't believe in what you believe to be true? Because if that's the case - which is what it looks like from here - then you've got a lot of bigger places to wage war with."

Art supressed a small smile, she was someone that was rather better at this kind of thing than he was, and she was rather frightening when she targetted someone with he full force of distaste.
"Indeed, she has a point. To us you may very well be heritics, surely you take that into account." He could never understand these people that wanted to cause so much war and hatred. He himself didn't follow a religion and didn't care about those that did, they were welcome to.
He knew that this was something that concerned the whole Circle but he could not invite them here that quickly. It would take them some time to assemble and he did not want to grant that to this man that he had already developed a distaste for.
He wondered if he should just shoot him now, it would save on all of the effort of bargening but he didn't it would bring more war and Ixchel would probably recieve a spray of the crimson blood.

Francis smirked he had been in this situation a few times and each time the person insulting him usually ended up missing the brethren were good at doing things like that.
"Let me put it this way, You may or may not follow a religion either way it is against Imperial regulations and so considering Septrem is soon to belong to the Imperial you are most wise to change your ways."
Francis stood up his long coat clocking into place as the plate metal attached itself together. "Like I said the choice is your's but when the holy purge comes nobody will be left in any of the four petty factions."
The Inquisitor raised the crimson handkerchief to his mouth and coughed again, his blood running deep into the handkerchief.

Again, not a second was left to spare as Ixchel sprung into action. Her eyes were solid, the deep chocolate rings about her pupil threatening to darken until they matched the very same shade of the black abysses that they encircled. Her fingers, a couple of them gleaming dully in the light with rings, constricted about her arms, creasing the fabric of her long jacket. There seemed to be a fatal flaw in this man's - no, the Imperials' - logic, and she often wondered if they had ever taken notice of it.
"And just what exactly gives you the right to storm into other people's land so you can take it for yourself?" She replied. "Just what sets your people apart from the others? What is it exactly that makes you think you can storm into other people's homes and threaten to kill them because you don't like what they believe in?" She was silent for a few moments, her eyes glimmering in the light that filtered through the opened glass window, their attention fixed upon Artaxerxes. "You don't belong in those places - that's why we call them 'home' and you do not."

Malina stood on the otherside of the door. She could hear all three on the otherside of the door talking about heretics and religion. That man who had been to her home had now got Art and Ixchel involved. She gathered they would all be standing before the Holy Inquisition at the Imperial city soon.
She opened the door and walked in. She nodded her head to the Captain in sign of respect, afterall, he was the leader of Hirren. She looked at the man and rested her hands on her hips. "I got tired of waiting... Are you not ready?"
She glanced at Art and Ixchel. "I am traveling to see the Holy Inquisition with this, gentleman. Seems I am doing something wrong..."
