The current town is a thriving market for nearly every import. The main entrance is by sea as very few wish to brave the paths through the marsh and swampland. There is a path that is kept by the people of the town, however even that is treacherous.
Most of the houses are built from wood, mostly from the local stunted trees, all raised on platforms above the soft floor of the marsh. Even the paths are raised above ground level, rather than risk loosing citizens to the ground.
Because of the marsh lands, it is difficult for the people to farm the lands, and most have taken to fishing to find their foods. There is some farmable land, but it is some way from the town and every day, the people must walk the distance to tend to their crops.
Much of their loot is traded for food and metal for their ships. Because of the trees here, they also trade for more expensive wood when it is needed.
The ships built here are some of the best in the lands, well known for their speed and durability. The knowledge has been passed on from the first pirate settlers to the current dwellers, and improved over the years.
Another thing that has passed on, it the knowledge of sea faring and pillaging. They spend much of their time pillaging legion ships and such like, taking over the crew and offering them places upon their own ship, that or being set upon the nearest land and left.
The way of life has not changed much since the first people settled, the skill with magic has increased still, and is strongest in those who are the original descendants of the first crew.
